Iryna can’t breathe

2026, experimental, 2’29”

On August 22, 2025, Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska was murdered in a U.S. subway when Decarlos Brown Jr. suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed her three times, including once in the neck. We witness her final moments, though surrounded by people, she is dying completely alone, intertwined with footage of protesters against George Floyd’s murder and public figures who, in 2020, spoke out under the slogan “I can’t breathe”. No one knelt for Iryna. No one was held accountable for racism. The media, politicians and public figures remained silent. Does every human life hold equal value, and to what extent is our empathy shaped by ideology and dominant media narratives?

Uznemirujući portret jedne šalice (eng. A disturbing portrait of a cup)

2022, experimental, 3’59”

“A disturbing portrait of a cup” combines various shots of one cup of coffee shaking on the table, expressing the restlessness that is equally experienced through sound and image.

The Message

2022, experimental, 1’03”

Found footage video composed of speeches by the presidents of all 195 countries. Their messages become one global message. That message is vague, disturbing and does not guarantee a bright future.

Brojevi (eng. Numbers)

2020, experimental, 3’57”

“Numbers” is a single-channel loop video installation composed of clips from the press conferences of the Croatian Civil Protection Headquarters. The video is conceived of a series of portraits of two members of the Headquarters through listing statistics on the number of victims and recovered from coronavirus. The counter is gradually becoming more and more meaningless and illogical, and it seems to be relative what the numerical state was today, yesterday or in the past period.
